How to Prevent Becoming a Cyberbullying Victim
The best way to combat cyberbullying is to avoid becoming a victim in the first place. With a few common sense steps, you can help safeguard yourself.
- Zip your lips about your password. Avoid telling even close friends your log in information. It’s not worth the risk of someone hacking into your account.
- Be vigilant about logging out. Make a habit of logging out of all your accounts before you step away from the screen, especially if you use public computers at your school.
- Avoid posting material that can be used against you. That means it's probably not a good idea to send risque photos of yourself or to post inappropriate statuses. Once they're out there, there's no taking them back.
